Yesterday
Somewhere back in the archives or over at the other blog there's another picture from near this spot along the river at Anderson River Park.
The water level is up today because releases from Shasta Dam have been increased. It seems that the water level in the lake is just over a foot from the top of the dam and if they let is start flowing over the top, any control there was disappears and ol' mother nature takes over.
Anyway, it was a nice day with plenty of sunshine. I have to do that more often... go to the park, that is.

That river looks pretty wide to me - as wide as the Thames in London which is almost at its mouth. Yet the Sacramento still has a couple of hundred miles or more to run!
ReplyDeleteIt is probably just a little less than 500 feet wide at this point.
