There's a quote at the end

I see that California is ranked as having the 4th worst drivers by state... third worst if you consider D.C. is not a state. I'm sure that the folks who did the survey didn't take into account that the state motto is We'll Turn in Front of You.
The ranking is based on a 20 question quiz. That explains why Oregon* is ranked so high (number 50... 49 if you remember about D.C.). The test is based on the rules of the road and not necessarily how well they are applied by drivers. Hence the quote:
"There is knowing the rules of the road, and there is obeying the rules of the road"

*This blog and any others by the blogger will, on occasion attempt to start some banter by taking a cheap shot.

  1. Oh dear...I learned to drive in California and now live in Oregon. I hit both ends of the scale!

  2. Yeah, but did you take the test?

I think maybe California is so far down the list because so many of the folks who live here came from somewhere else. Also, I know a lot of folks who have moved to Oregon from California because they were tired of seeing all of the others move to California.

  3. Hey, I scored 17 out of 20 - which I consider pretty good as quite a few of the situations that were asked about don't arise over here.

  4. Welcome back Brian. I'm not surprised that you did well. Most of the questions had a lot to do with common sense. And, unlike yours truly, you seem to be a sensible person.

BTW - do you know the #1Nana is a Lion?

  5. Sensible? Me?? That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me - I think.

    And yes, I had realised.
