Some days ago I posted about finally finishing a small writing project I'd agreed to do. I also mentioned that I had failed to have it proofread. Anyone who's been reading this blog (and the other one) will note that on numerous occasions I have failed to have things proofread. It is part of a stubborn streak I developed when I was much younger. It took me several years to learn that proofreading and editing were not the same thing. Fortunately, for all concerned, I have learned to filter some of the raw ideas. Unfortunately, it is not automatic.
The article I wrote was published today. My favorite proofreader read it. She couldn't find any errors.
Phew!!!
She did ask why I spelled color the way I did... colour. I explained that since it was for a British publication that I felt I should write it in their language. One time soon the Brighton Pensioner will have the newsletter posted somewhere and then everyone will be able to read what I wrote.
Oooh an international publication! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteNana,
ReplyDeleteYou can read it at www.brightonlions.org.uk/2010-06.pdf (I think)
@ Nana - Oh, right... I never mentioned that I knew a Lions Club newsletter editor, did I?
ReplyDeleteHe's always looking for fresh sources for material.
