Strange

No, I really do mean strange... like in weird.
I was a little curious about what I was doing last year at this time so I checked a couple of blog posts.
The first look was at this one. If you're going to look follow it all the way through.
So then I looked at the day before. There it was the comments that provide the entertainment interest.

I do believe I have resolved what is happening though. At this time last year I was anxious about the birth of my grandson. Today I am only anxious about how much his parents will appreciate that I got him a drum for his first birthday.

  1. Ugh, jeez man! What is it with people and giving kids noisy presents?! Especially when said kid isn't old enough to understand when enough is enough!

Remember, it's only funny when *I* buy things like that for other kids. :D

  2. No, Matt. It's always funny. It could worse. I might have found a set of cymbals like marching bands use/

  3. Haha, ok, I have to admit, It's always funny... unless it's my kid.

I always threatened my brother that I'd get his kids bagpipes. I had no idea how expensive those things were!

  4. I thought I would wait until Hugh is at least two years old for bagpipes.
His mom, my daughter, told me that she wanted to start getting him interested in music.

  5. My parents bought my son a drum for Christmas.

Interesting how these people who never had a sense of humor about subjects such as "drum sets" when I was a child, suddenly have developed one when the afore mentioned noise maker is not in their house.

  6. That constitutes cruel and unusual punishment. You do know that, don't you?
My daughter, her husband, their two small children and his 18-year-old daughter and I all live together in my house. The younger kids -ages 6 and 3 -are both autistic. For Christmas this past year, their parents showed their really insane side by getting each of the kids a little drum set -consisting of a small snare drum, a tamborine and the crowning element -a harmonica! Damned good thing I do love them and I do adore my grandkids too but man, this was really pushing the envelope -a lot!

  7. Ooh, Jeni - the harmonica is what Sharon wanted for him.
