Back to the dentist again... only earlier... this morning. This time I only had to be there long enough to "spit the teeth out." They are off to the lab to be used as a model for creating the permanent set.
Appearance-wise the current ones are just dandy. Unfortunately they don't function well at all. Hence, they are temporaries. The problem is that from the time natural teeth are removed there is quite a reduction in tissue... mostly because of a decrease in swelling... so that the dentures get really sloppy as far as fit goes. Also they are not anchored to anything.
The permanent set will fit much more snugly, plus the lowers will have four anchors provided by the implants which have been healing since just before Christmas.
Of course now there is a certain issue with my appearance. I think I will remain behind closed doors until I'm called to go pick up the teeth. That may not be until after 4:00pm.
I sincerely hope this will be the end of all your oral problems.
ReplyDeleteOh, the problems... all 32... have been handled. It's the solutions that are being worked out now.
ReplyDeleteSomehow we missed the opportunity to add the tissue conditioner earlier. That would have handled some of the eating issues I've had.
