It took awhile for the folks I called to have someone look at the problem. It seems that there are a lot of folks who didn't take the freeze warning seriously or, like me, overlooked some vulnerable fixtures.
Anyway, long story short, there's a hole next to the sprinkler manifold because after the initial repair was made, it was obvious that two of the other three valves had also suffered severe structural damage and will need replacement.
Since the isolation valve that was installed no longer functions it was a whole lot easier to just cut the supply line and cap it until such time as the whole mess can be straightened out.
The only other option would be to leave the water supply to the house turned off until there was no danger of any more freezing. I wasn't even going to broach that subject with Sharon.
