We're packin' the Ranger and heading into the hills near Shingletown to help cleanup after the Lions Diabetes Camp at Camp McCumber. The Anderson Lions volunteered to do this so that they don't have to hire someone. While we are there, we're going to hold our Club Officer Installation.
It should be a bit of a respite because it is supposed to hit triple digits here while it is only going to be in the nineties up there.
I had a long day on Saturday as well: 7½ behind the wheel on busy French motorways, including almost an hour of stop start through the congestion of Lyon, France's second larges city. Sheila normally spells me, but she didn't feel happy about driving in those conditions. We trundled along in lane 1 at a steady 69mph, occasionally passing a lorry or caravan, while two more lanes of cars sped by at 80, 90 or even 100mph! Added to that, the French (like the Americans!) drive on the wrong side of the road.
ReplyDeleteYes. Well you could have probably made better time had everyone been on the same side of the road.
ReplyDeleteI shall treat that comment with the contempt it so richly deserves :)
