The Sunday paper each week has a column by the managing editor in which he rambles on to nobody in particular about subject he believes interest others. Come to think of it, about every column I have ever read is like that... unlike blogs, which contain information of vital importance.
Anyhow, the subject for his recent column was major news stories of 2008 or, more specifically, how the editorial staff and the readers differed in opinion about what was important.
The paper's staff had picked last summer's wildfires as the north states major news story. The readers picked the story about the three KFC employees who bathed in the dish sink at work.
That story just isn't going to die. My suggestion is that somebody find a way to exploit it.
