What were you doing?
I had been trying for several months to get a picture of the Trinity Alps, but until yesterday afternoon there was always something that interfered. In fact, if the weather hadn't finally been clearing, I wouldn't have this one. They are about 50 miles in the distance (90 and a long walk if you're driving) and the view is blocked by the hills in front as one gets closer.
