Neptune

I saw one just like this last night and almost didn't recognize it. Back in their heyday they looked a lot bigger. The fire season appears to finally be underway, though so far we've been relatively fortunate locally.
I didn't realize ANY P-2s were still flying, as fire-bombers or otherwise. I thought they'd all gone off to the boneyards or been put on sticks by now... the last time I saw one was at NAS Brunswick in Maine (static display, just inside the main gate), two years ago.
It seems like it wasn't that long ago they were still flying B-17s. Mostly, we see S-2s and the occasional P-3. Fortunately it's been quiet this year... so far
