I can hardly wait

Not a mile away, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is planning to create a traffic circle (or roundabout).

Do they understand just how foreign alien this is for folks in this part of the North State. Even I, who has traveled all the way to Michigan and back, have difficulty with these things... just ask Grandma Skip how I straightened out Livernois Road one evening. But it's really not the locals who concern me. This traffic circle is to be part of the freeway access so some folks will find their first impression of Anderson created by it. If it should also be their first encounter with a traffic circle... well, maybe you get the idea?

Oh, and the truckers are gonna love it!

  1. We're seeing more of them in our area as well. I think I can see their usefullness in a residential area, but on streets that see more traffic, it's a nightmare. Tri-Cities , Washington has been installing them all over town.

  2. It makes a change for Americans to be importing European ideas...
