  2. All I remember is that it was behind the house in yesterday's picture. There's a song by John Denver that opens:
    "Almost heaven, West Virginia
    Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
    Life is old there, older than the trees
    Younger than the mountains growin' like a breeze."

    All I will say is that we were closer to the Ohio River.

  3. But, I spent every summer as a child playing there - - - great memories - Grandma's farm. Just because WE were closer to the Ohio River doesn't mean ALL of West Virginia is.

  4. One more thing . . . the river that runs around the property is the West Fork River . . . just saying.

  5. ...and the West Fork is a tributary of the Monongahela River, which joins the Allegheny River at Pittsburgh and becomes the Ohio.
    But my point is that it's further from the Shenandoah that from the Ohio.
