Another look at Lake McCumber
The lake is actually a reservoir on Battle Creek created to store water for power generation by PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric Company).
Oh, yeah!!! It's cold. The only ones who seem to enjoy swimming are the kids and they don't stay in the water very long. Boating is limited to rowed or electrically motorized boats and there is no boat launching facility.
It certainly looks very inviting, but for boating rather than swimming.
