We interupt our reverie...

This past week has been, if not hectic, busy.
The Lions egg hunt occupied much of the last part of last week and then the clan (two adults, three children and a dog) from Washington arrived. Their arrival meant that the clan (one adult, three post-adolescents and a baby... they left the dogs home) from Sacramento also arrived, which set off some signal to the local clan (two adults, one child and their dog) to grace us with their presence. I'm not sure if the gathering was to celebrate Easter or Gabe's birthday. Either way it was nice to have everyone here. Some went home Saturday, others Sunday. The Washingtonians and locals (except for the dog) remained.
We received word that the kid's (the adult children, that is) 96 year-old paternal grandfather has taken a bad turn. He is in a care facility in Reno, having been recently moved there from Florida. So the kids and their families have braved the mountain highways to drive over to Reno, support dad and say good-bye to grandpa, who passed yesterday. It's sort of an adventure and a new experience for the grandchildren. The dogs have no clue as what's going on. And it is really quiet here until they all return tomorrow.
Meanwhile, it dawned on me a few moments ago that by this time next week we will be on our way to the Lions Clubs district convention. I sort of have to go because I am on the convention committee and Sharon is the Food Faire chair.
Oh yeah... and let's see. We drove down to Oroville for a Lions new club organization meeting on Monday. There's another next Monday.
So obviously we are savoring the few moments of quiet that remain before it becomes clear that there is a lot to do between now and next Thursday.

The bottom line is: Life happens.
