Wow!!!

For a day that started so early, yesterday sure did go by fast. . . and without any glitches, hangups, misadventures or whatever.
In case I didn't mention it, I had to set the alarm to wake up early because I had to take some medications two hours before my dental procedure. Sharon woke up before that and asked me if I'd forgotten to set the alarm. Oh well.
So I took my meds, an anti-biotic and an anti-anxiety, and ate a light breakfast before venturing out through the fog for my dental procedure. Because of the nature of the anti anxiety med it was necessary for Sharon to drive. . . I mean it was really necessary for her to drive.
I don't know what I had expected, but the procedure too nowhere near as long as I thought it would. In something like an hour the surgeon gave me a local anesthetic, jacked my mouth open wide enough to park a 747 and inserted four implants to anchor my lowers. About the on thing that was disconcerting about the whole thing was that they blindfolded be, but the anti-anxiety meds worked so well that I didn't care and the finished so quickly that I hardly noticed. About the only sided effect of the whole thing was that I couldn't seem to stay awake for the rest of the day. Once again there was no pain after the local anesthetic wore off.
I give thanks that once more I have managed to get through the aftermath of a surgical event without needing any pain medication. But then there are a number of things about yesterday that I don't remember.

  1. I'm glad to hear it all went off so smoothly. Are you getting near the end of all the treatment now?

  2. I hope. From here on out there should only be the healing process. That takes about four months.
I saw the dentist a couple of hours after the surgery. She was quite pleased with the outcome.

  3. I shall keep my fingers crossed for you.

BTW, you demonstrated one of those intriguing differences between American English and British English. We would say "from here on in", but I think "out" is more logical.

  4. I believe that we might say either, based entirely upon personal preference.
