Last evening, as I drove home from a meeting, I observed a faint glow behind the mountains to the southeast. By the time I reached home the Moon had risen completely above the horizon and if it wasn't full, it was darn close.
I would have loved to have been able to get a picture because there was still enough daylight to see the mountains and there were no clouds [behind me, to the west was another story] to be seen.
That's one reason why I keep a camera in the ar. It's also there in case I need photographic evidence in the event of a crash.

Yes, well Sharon keeps hrs in her purse. . . and mine is, sadly, under a box in need of repair, which means that it will have to be replaced. I've been looking and DSLRs and thought I'd found one that I wanted until I discovered that nobody seems to carry it any more and the next model doesn't come along until September. Even then there's no guarantee that anyone around here will handle it.
